Enable new intelligent system
On June 5, Kuai Technology announced that a giant digital screen is showing the operation of railway freight trains in Guangdong and Hunan provinces in real time in the TFDS intelligent inspection center of Guangzhou North Vehicle Depot. In May this year, my country’s railway department applied TFDS intelligent identification technology for the first time. This move marks the entry of my country’s railway truck dynamic detection technology into a critical period of intelligent and intensive development.
Joint research and development to show strength
Guangzhou Railway Group has led the development of TFDS intelligent identification technology in the national railway industry and has conducted in-depth cooperation with Huawei. After 17 technical breakthroughs, the R&D team successfully created an intelligent identification database. The database covers 67 mainstream models and can analyze 438 complex fault characteristics, which enables truck detection technology to achieve significant progress from traditional artificial visual inspection to comprehensive AI inspection.
Strong core capabilities of the system
The system performs excellently and can perform millimeter-level precise inspections on thousands of truck accessories in just 5 minutes, a process equivalent to a comprehensive health assessment of the truck. Relying on its powerful computing power core, the system has the ability to centrally schedule and can monitor 43 sets of TFDS equipment in Guangdong and Hunan provinces in real time all day long, thus building an intelligent security protection network.
Double improvement in efficiency and accuracy
The platform processes more than one million image data per day. Through the deep combination of AI algorithms and fault maps, the number of image reviews in a single shift has dropped from 640,000 to 27,000, effectively reducing the workload of manual review. In addition, the system’s accuracy in fault identification has been increased to 99.8%, ensuring “zero missed diagnosis” for major safety hazards.
More optimized manpower configuration
Intelligence promotes the rational allocation of human resources. After implementing the “comprehensive centralized management” policy, the Guangzhou Railway Group is expected to cut 447 staff members and the number of staff will be reduced to 200. At the same time, labor productivity is expected to increase by more than 120%. This measure has set a benchmark for “reducing costs and improving efficiency” for the digital transformation of the railway transportation industry.
Planning and ensuring safety
Guangzhou Railway Group plans to build a “intelligent security network” within a range of more than 6,500 kilometers on the railway lines it manages by the end of 2025.
